CPA provides pipe suspension equipment to all types of power plants worldwide, from coal, oil or natural gas-fired plants, to those using nuclear or renewable energy sources to generate electricity.

The piping systems within coal, oil or natural gas-fired power plants are subjected to extremely high temperatures. Therefore, it is vitally important to install a pipe support system which ensures that stresses caused by such high temperatures are minimised thus preventing damage to the piping system itself.

Due to the potential risks involved in the operation of nuclear power plants, a reliable and durable pipe support system is essential. CPA’s high quality and safety standards, along with its rigorous testing of finished products, ensures that its products are fit for purpose in the most critical environments.

Coal-Fired Power Plants:

CASTLE PEAK POWER STATION, HONG KONG

The Castle Peak Power Station is the largest coal-fired power station in Hong Kong. The station consists of four 350 MW and four 677 MW generating units.

TAI CHUNG POWER PLANT, TAIWAN

With an installed coal-fired generation capacity of 5,500 MW, Taichung power plant, Taiwan, is the largest coal-fired power station in the world. The power plant consists of ten coal-fired units with nominal capacity of 550 MW each. CPA supplied hydraulic snubbers in 2014 in order to protect the plant in the event of seismic activity.

HSIN-TA POWER PLANT, TAIWAN

The Hsin-ta power plant, located in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, is the second largest coal-fired power plant in Taiwan with a total installed capacity of 4,326MW. CPA supplied spring supports and hydraulic snubbers as part of the construction of this plant.

MATARBARI POWER PLANT, BANGLADESH

The Matarbari Power Plant is a 1,200 megawatt (2×600) coal-fired power station located in Maheshkhali Upzail, Bangladesh. The plant accounts for 10% of the total generation capacity of Bangladesh.

2 x 172MW DAVAO POWER PLANT, PHILIPPINES

Genesee Combined Cycle Power Plant, Canada

Genesee 1 & 2 is repowering to natural gas combined cycle (NGCC) generation units. Located entirely within the footprint of the existing Genesee Generating Station, the repowering project involves installing new gas-fired combustion turbines and heat recovery steam generators, while utilizing the existing steam turbine generators. The two repowered units will provide an additional 538 megawatts of net capacity totalling 1,338 MW.

Tuxpan Combined Cycle Power Plant, Mexico

CPA carried out 3D pipe support design as well as manufacture of 100’s of pipe supports installed within 2 HRSG’s at the Tuxpan Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plant in Veracruz, Mexico.

West Country Energy Center, USA

The West Country Energy Center is a natural gas power plant in Palm Beach County, Florida. The power plant features three 1,250-MW multi-shaft combined cycle gas turbine generating units on a 220-acre (89 ha) site. It is the largest natural gas power plant in the USA.

The Taichung combined-cycle power plant is a 2.6GW gas-fired facility being developed adjacent to Taiwan’s existing 5.5GW Taichung coal-fired power station, which is one of the world’s biggest thermal power plants.

Pasir Gudang (‘Track 4A’) CCGT Power Plant, Malaysia

The Track 4A combined-cycle power station, also known as the Pasir Gudang power station, is a 1.4GW gas-fired power generating facility located in the Johor district of Malaysia.

The power station comprises two single-shaft, combined-cycle generating blocks of 720MW capacity each. Both the units are designed to run on natural gas as the main fuel and distillate as the back-up fuel.
