‘SONGKRAN’ THAI NEW YEAR FESTIVAL
Next week (10-14 April), CPA will commence its annual 1 week shut down to celebrate the Thai ‘Songkran’ festival which marks the beginning of the Thai New Year in line with the Buddhist calendar.
The word Songkran derives from Sanskrit, meaning “to move” or “step forward.” The splashing of water during Songkran symbolises the washing away of sins and bad luck, thus welcoming the new year with a fresh start.
Happy Thai New Year to you all!
